Structured Curriculum with Learning Objectives?

When looking for the best source for language and cultural exposure for your child or school facility, ask the question, DO YOU HAVE A STRUCTURED CURRICULUM? Unlike many other programs, Lango has exactly that!  Each session holds a new theme, set of vocabulary, phrases and cultural insights and includes class and session learning objectives.  We make opportunities for our teachers to share their culture in class and we also know the value of structured learning with set expectations.  Students can take one session here or there or continue on for many years to come.

Spanish, French and Mandarin for Kids

Lango currently offers classes for children, 6 months to 12 years, throughout the East Bay. Mandarin workbooks, handouts, flashcards etc teach simplified chinese. If you don't see a class listed in your area, please drop us an email and request one, we'd be happy to discuss beginning one in your child's school, preschool, after-care program or neighborhood! Check us out for fun, active summer day camps too!

Tot-and-Parent Classes (18m-3yrs) -Parent or Caregiver Required

Children in this class don't sit still for long! Accompanied by parents or caregivers, these young "students" (ages 18 months to 3 years) start learning a new language through a variety of activities designed to engage their minds and bodies. Music and movement form the foundation for the classes, as the children sing simple, rhythmic songs and dance, run, spin and jump around the room! Meanwhile, our teachers work with the accompanying adults, teaching them age-appropriate games and activities so that they can reinforce learning at home. These "playclasses" are great for parents and caregivers who want to learn Spanish alongside their children!

Preschoolers (3yrs-5yrs) -Parent/Caregiver Optional

Fun and play form the foundation for our Preschool classes. Within two or three classes, kids ages 3-5 learn key phrases in their new language through simple, repeated songs and chants. Meanwhile, they become familiar with more complex aspects of the language by engaging in "adventures," art projects and movement-based games that require them to solve simple problems - in their new language, of course! These adventures, starring the Lango Kids, our multicultural cast of characters, take students to other lands and cultures to ensure that their language instruction is combined with cultural exposure. Preschoolers' classes are great for kids who are enrolled in preschool, but have not yet started kindergarten.

Early Elementary (5yrs-12yrs) -Parent/Caregiver Observation

A strong cultural emphasis grounds our early elementary language lessons in the customs and traditions of native-speaking peoples, while a simple literacy component ensures that these students not only listen, speak, sing and play in their new language, but read and write as well. Our curriculum takes students on imaginary journeys where they work on fun problem solving adventures built around cultural themes. Lango is proud to partner with schools around the Bay Area to provide after-school Early Elementary language classes to their students.

BABIES (6mo/Sitting-14mo) -Parent/Caregiver Required

Our newest class, Mandarin immersion for Babies (Age: sitting to 14mo) and their parent or caregiver. After many requests, we have developed a class for babies/caregivers to gain exposure and practice the target language-Caregivers are doing most of the work. Classes are 30min and we'll convey language basics, work some with pronunciation and have storytime and parachute in the target language. The main focus of the class is about exposing children (and caregivers) to the language with the addition of visual cues and minimal movements.

Lango welcomes our newest partner, YMCA (Irvin Deutscher @ 350 Civic Dr - Pleasant Hill) (no YMCA enrollment fees for Lango classes)! Cosmo loves singing "Y.M.C.A"!
