Our Experienced Team of Educators

The Lango team is made up of a dedicated team of life-long educators, PTA members, and foreign language enthusiasts who are committed to the Lango mission. Above all, many of Lango's team members are parents who want to open doors for their own children and others by providing well-rounded educational experiences.

Heather Ainsworth

Heather is Vice President of Global Education and Training at Intrax. She leads the educational program portfolio for Intrax which includes Lango, the English Language Centers and the Learning and Development team. Heather’s experience in the field of education encompasses teaching high school history, producing educational media for museums, managing client services for a Fortune 500 provide of child care centers… and navigating the local public school system for her own children. Her corporate strategy experience includes R&D at Eastman Kodak, management consulting, and strategy consulting in the early childhood education industry. Heather earned her undergraduate degree at Duke University and an MBA at Stanford University.

Cheryl Haga

Lango's Director of Operations, has worked in the field of education for over a decade. She taught high school special education in Oakland, California, managed Teach For America's national teacher training program, ran a post-secondary vocation campus, and most recently served as Lango's Bay Area Director. Cheryl obtained a BA in Italian Language and Literature from San Francisco State University, as well as a Masters Certification from Villanova University and a California Teaching Credential. Cheryl is thrilled to bring her passions for education, languages and cultural understanding to Lango.

Tamari Jenkins

Tamari is Lango’s Spanish Curriculum Developer, began her interest in foreign languages at a very young age. She received her B.A. degree from Pacific Union College and did her graduate study at the University of California, Riverside. She received her M. A. degree in Spanish with an emphasis in linguistics and dialectology. In January of 2002, Tamari joined the Spanish faculty at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, CA where she is currently a tenured, associate professor. Tamari is the founder of African American Linguists and serves as the ACTFL 2010-20012 chair of the Educators of African American Students SIG.

Judy Wu

Judy has been taught languages and trained language teachers throughout the country. She designed and taught language programs for such programs as 100 Families Programs Oakland: Art & Social Change, ABC Language Exchange and the Silkroad Institute. Judy began her career as an ESL teacher in New York in 2000. A native of Taiwan, Judy holds a BA in Studio Arts and Anthropology from CUNY Hunter College and an MFA in Ceramics from California College of the Arts, and she brings her artistic flair and passion to every class she teaches..

Yarim Heureaux

Lango's Lead Trainer, as well as a Spanish Teacher and Camp Counselor with Lango of Prince George's County. She is a native Spanish speaker from the Dominican Republic. Yarim is in the process of earning her Bachelor's degree in Early Education and Special Needs. She has taught Pre-Kinder classes at a Model School of Excellence for two years where she led a Spanish/English bilingual class.
